How to use a Glowingco VA effectively

How to use a Glowingco VA effectively 2240 1260 Morelle Pierson

Whether you’ve used a VA before or not, the principles of fully utilising a business support function remain the same.

The team at GlowingCo like to focus on the relationships we create with our clients and how those connections work when we’re supporting your business.

Here are some simple tips to help you get the most out of your Virtual Assistant!

  • Communicate

Tell us how you’d like to communicate when working together.

Let us know what you need when it comes to us slotting in and supporting you: we want to be on the same page as you, and in order to do that, instructions, expectations, boundaries and updates must be clear and communicated in a way that both sides fully understand.

We’d like to think we are approachable and we pride ourselves on being flexible, so lets keep the open lines of communication flowing!

  • Trust your VA

We totally understand that you know your business inside out. It is your baby and you are the boss!

Without a doubt, there will be certain things that you haven‘t mastered.

Tasks you don’t enjoy and spend lots of time on, which take you away from more productive and lucrative things, so you need to let go.

Let go and trust us!

Trust that we are here to do our job, whilst you do yours.

We are skilled at what we do, adapting quickly to your way of working and will provide excellent support to your business.

  • Be flexible

Have flexibility with your expectations and delegations – the world chops and changes all the time and your workload is likely to do the same.
We are used to varied workloads, multi-tasking, new technology and ever changing structures – and we will adapt accordingly.

  • Create a partnership

One must remember that a working relationship is no relationship at all if you don’t work in partnership.
We are here to help you and your business, to be part of your journey and work alongside you. Utilise this partnership, lean on us when you need us and respect the assistance we provide!

  • Review regularly

Our packages are reviewed on a monthly basis and adjusted based on your business needs at the time, so that you get the best out of your VA, in the most cost effective way for you.

Together we will review what’s been achieved so far, give feedback on things that might need tweaking and then plan ahead for what you’ll need next!

If you have a big project looming, we will increase the hours and allocate more workload to your VA. If you’re winding down into a less busy period for your industry, we can reduce the hours you allocate to your VA, until such time you need them more again.

If you’re thinking of using a VA, take these tips into account. If you’d like an impartial chat, feel free to drop us an email or give us a call.

Tips for working from home

Tips for working from home 2240 1260 Morelle Pierson

In these changing times, many of us are working from home more than we ever have before.
Most will see this as a huge perk, but, sometimes we all need a little productivity boost!
So, we’ve created a list of top tips to help you get the most out of your day:

  • Maintain regular working hours

It’s easy to log on and off at different times when a commute doesn’t break up your day – so simply set yourself some time boundaries.

  • Create a morning routine

Set an alarm, have a shower, get dressed, get some fresh air, make a coffee (or tea if you prefer!), write your to-do / task list and get yourself in “work mode” ready for the day ahead.

  • Take breaks

It’s important for your concentration & creativity levels to properly step away from what you’re doing to re gain focus. It is not healthy to sit and stare at a screen all day long – get up and move away from your laptop!

  • Get out of the house

Working and living in the same space can give you “cabin fever”.
Now, we realise this has been a challenge at times over recent months, however, make sure you’re getting a change of scenery regularly when you can! (Safely and within current covid-19 guidelines for your area)

  • Keep a dedicated workspace

It can be tempting to work from your kitchen table, the sofa or even your bed, just because you can! However, your mindset won’t thank you for it.
Make a workspace so that you can get into the right headspace, separate from your living space!

  • Over-communicate

We are not seeing others face to face as often right now, so make sure you’re clear in your communication and keeping regular contact with colleagues and peers!

  • Don’t be too hard on yourself

We all have off days… Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean it’s any less of a challenge than if you were in the office.
Please do not think that just because you’re away from your usual workplace that you have something extra to prove.
Appreciate yourself and what you achieve, one day at a time!

  • Enjoy the perks of being at home

Go for a nice walk on your lunch break, do some baking, or maybe even some life-admin like putting a wash on or running the hoover round…
Our founder, Morelle, has some super home working = house cleaning tips… she is our very own version of Mrs Hinch!!
